“One of a Kind” enamel jewelry I love designing and creating. Knowing you are one of a kind, and you want to adorn yourself to say just that. In our over consumption society companies target you and market massive amounts of new products called fashion.
We all know they want to tell us the new fashion trend is hip, here now, and everyone is dying for it. In just a few months they well introduce a new trend. This is why I execute my art to be one-of-a-kind, that become cherished family heirlooms, and speak to permanence, striking natural beauty and using adornment to set oneself apart. I design for the unique client.
Double Bird of Paradise is a cloisonné enamel pendant on one side. This is my favorite flower as it is brilliantly fill with bright colors. The statue of the flower is strong, like it is holding it’s head high, looking around to see who might be looking at it.
The foliage resembles small banana leaves with long petioles. The leaves on the Birds of Paradise plant are arranged strictly in two ranks to form a fan-like crown of evergreen foliage, thick, waxy, and glossy green, making it a very attractive ornamental plant.
The female part of the Birds of Paradise flower is the long extension of the blue tongue, which is extended well away from the stamens.
The opposite side of the pendant is a hand chased Bird of Paradise in 18k gold. The pendant can be worn either way giving you two pendants. Accented with a Mandarin Spessartite Garnet which is a rare form of a orange garnet, known for it vivid orange color.
