Hibiscus Custom Enamel Pendant

Hibiscus Custom Enamel Pendant

Much like the flower that inspired it, this custom enamel pendant is a delicate beauty.

Hibiscus is a part of a collection of custom enamel pendants made by Patsy Croft, owner of Alohi Lani Designs and a master of the cloisonné arts. This custom enamel pendant serves as proof of her expertise.

Hibiscus is a genus composed of several hundred species of flowering plants. Renowned for their large, showy blooms, gardeners often use these plants to attract pollinators. They’re also steeped in symbolism. To those who worship Kali and Ganesh, they serve as religious offerings. People in Tahiti and Hawaii, use them to denote relationship status.  Various nations, including Haiti and South Korea, use the hibiscus as a national symbol. With such cultural significance, it’s little wonder Patsy picked this flower to inspire this beautiful enamel pendant.

The gold enameled “Hibiscus” is hand chased, and enameled in red. Which, as many of you know, is the hardest of all colors to work with. Patsy then carved out shapes in the enamel to represent the petals. To finish it off, she added an art nouveau frame, ruby stamens, and delicate ruby dangler.

If you’re looking for a gift for the florist in your life, you can’t go wrong with a pendant like this.

  • This custom enamel pendant features an art nouveau hibiscus outlined in 18k gold. Its crimson color, a rarity in enameling, took hours to achieve.
  • From top to bottom, this unique gold pendant measures 2 ¾ by ½” by 1/4”. Because of that, it will never come across as ostentatious.
  • Patsy Croft, a cloisonné expert, created this custom enamel pendant.
  • Since it’s made completely by hand, you can rest easy knowing you’ll never find anything else like it.
  • It’s almost worth its weight in gold! This hibiscus pendant is made from nothing but enamel, rubies, and 18k gold.
